Faculty teach 15 credits per semester, hold five office hours per week, serve the college through committee and other service, and continue to enhance their skills and knowledge through professional development.

A minimum of four years professional interpreting or teaching experience; documented evidence of effective teaching in the ASLinterpreting field; extensive knowledge of Deaf culture and the Deaf community with the ability to interact effectively with both Deaf and hearing people; evidence of meaningful contributions to professional organizations.

Qualified applicants will complete background and reference checks.

Our mission is to perpetuate, preserve, and promote American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf Culture through excellence in teaching.

Membership in ASLTA is open to teachers of American Sign Language, Deaf Studies and related professions, including individuals who support the goals of the organization.

I am interested in establishing mentormentee relationships with certified interpreting professionals to provide guidance and supervision as I transition from interpreter student to the world of professional interpreting.
